CAMILLE SERISIER | CINDY SHERMAN QAGOMA BLOGPOST
SGAR artist CAMILLE SERISIER is currently featured on the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) blog, describing how Cindy Sherman has influenced her art practice.
“There are a number of lessons I have learnt from Sherman. Foremost is that art by women doesn’t just have to be for women”, Camille writes. She cites the use of humour to ease people into a tricky narrative as another lessen she’s learnt from Sherman’s work. Camille and Sherman also share a passion for dramatised, playful self-portraiture. These qualities are clearly evident in Camille’s current show at SGAR, LADIES OF OZ.
