NEWS | CAMILLE SERISIER | ABC APPEARANCES
SGAR artist Camille Serisier recently appeared on 612 ABC Radio in Melbourne, Hobart and Brisbane, speaking about her current exhibition, Ladies of Oz.
Speaking to Sarah Howells, Camille discussed the development of the Ladies of Oz series from its roots in a residency at Miegunyah House, the home of the Queensland Women’s Historical Association. In Ladies of Oz, Camille delves into the idea of selective histories, having that so many women are absent from historical records. “The people you can find information about are normally white, middle-class, privileged individuals,” she told Howells.
You can read more of what Camille had to say, and watch some clips from the exhibition, in Jessica Hinchliffe’s article on the ABC NEWS WEBSITE.
Ladies of Oz is currently on display at Spiro Grace Art Rooms until 22 October 2016.
